I finished my first triathlon at the age of…
1998 I suffered a working accident, loosing my left lower leg.
2002- I discovered my love of the triathlon sport on the occasion of a benefit event, and then took part at many sprint triathlons. The first olympic triathlon I started in Kirchbichl and 2006 the first international one. It was the World Championship in Lausanne which I won.
I started with triathlon competitions because of…
I never could decide should I take part in a running event or a cycling event on week-ends – so even “3 events” at the same time was most attractive.
What are your current competition distances?
since 2010 at the championship-series we have been reclassified to the sprint distance which is a great pity.
Tell us something about training in the winter.
My winter training comprises apart of my activity as ski racer (member of the Austrian Ski National team – handicap sport) cross-country skiing and ski-touring.
Do you have some good tips for someone who wants to start triathlon competitions as well?
Please do start slowly with sprint triathlons and do not immediately focus on an ironman.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
in triathlon with the oldies and eventual as trainer.
Why did you choose CAMARO?
I use Camaro because the team is very competent and knows what material is good for me in order to be among the best. The Neoprene suit is very important for
a handicapped athlete because we swim with the Neo et each event, even if there is a higher water temperature. In winter I rely on Komperdell for ski racing, touring and cross-country and have practically the same team behind me.
